A Mount Gambier man is facing a murder charge after a woman died from injuries sustained in a serious assault.
The 25-year-old woman sustained serious injuries in an assault in Mount Gambier on Thursday.
She was rushed to hospital in a critical condition but died on Friday.
A 27-year-old Mount Gambier man was arrested and initially charged with aggravated assault causing serious harm.
The charge is expected to be upgraded to murder when he appears in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on Monday.
The Advertiser understands the pair were in a domestic relationship.
