Man who allegedly stole guitars, laptops from Underdale home caught waiting at nearby bus stop

It has to be one of Adelaide’s most embarrassing, and stupid, getaway attempts – a man allegedly stole guitars and laptops from an Underdale home, only to wait out front for a bus to escape.

Criminals Found Guilty... of Being Dumb.

An alleged thief with more brawn than brains has been caught waiting for a bus with guitars and laptops that were stolen from a house just two metres away.

The man dropped two electric guitars and two laptops and fled when police arrived at an Underdale home after reports of a home invasion just after 8pm on Friday.

Officers were called to the Holbrooks Rd property just minutes earlier after a resident heard strange noises come from a bedroom.

Officers chased the suspect along Holbrooks Rd and onto Arnold St where he was arrested.

The 36-year-old from Henley Beach South was charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
