Man in court over deadly Riverland head-on crash
A man has fronted court over a Riverland crash last year that killed two people.
A driver has faced court accused of killing two people, and injuring a third, in a head-on car crash in the Riverland.
Mark Norman Hueppauff, 69, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday.
He has yet to plead to two counts of causing death, and one of causing serious harm, by dangerous driving.
The charges relate to a crash on the Sturt Highway at Good Hope Landing, between Waikerie and Kingston on Murray, in September last year.
It is alleged Hueppauff was driving a Ford sedan that collided head-on with a Mazda.
A woman, 78, who was in the Mazda, died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
The car’s driver, 76, was taken to hospital with critical injuries.
A 66-year-old Berri woman, who was a passenger in the Ford, sustained serious injuries.
The court has yet to be told which of the people injured in the crash subsequently died.
Hueppauff was not required to enter pleas on Thursday and was remanded on continuing bail to face court again next month.
