A PASSENGER in a car was left fighting for life after it crashed into a tree near Gawler on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the site of the crash on Balmoral Rd at Kalbeeba at about 5.45pm on Thursday.
Specialist MedStar paramedics were dispatched by helicopter to the rural road.
It is understood the car with two people inside crashed into a tree.
The female passenger sustained serious injuries and is being flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment.
The driver as treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Major Crash Investigators are making their way to the scene and police are asking motorists to avoid the area if possible.
