AN actor accused of biting off “large portions” of another man’s ears during a drunken assault at Murray Bridge has pleaded not guilty to the crime.
Bruce Roland Carter, 36, of Murray Bridge, entered not guilty pleas to one count each of causing serious harm to another person, aggravated assault of a police officer and driving with excess blood alcohol in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
The court has previously heard the victim went to help Carter, who works as an actor, after a car crash on September 14, 2017.
Carter then allegedly “rushed the complainant, punched him in the face, put him in a headlock and bit off large portions of both of the complainant’s ears”.
Carter was remanded in custody to appear in the District Court in May.
