Katrina Blowers reveals disastrous hair moment

When she agreed to be a hair model, newsreader Katrina Blowers had no idea that this would happen to her long blonde locks.

Model cries and faints after having her hair cut off during reality makeover show (Show TV)

How would you describe your personal style?

Polished with an edge.

Who are your style icons?

Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Miley Cyrus, Kate Hudson.

What’s the oldest thing in your wardrobe?

My christening gown made by my mum.

What are your favourite brands?

I’m really petite, so anything that fits!

Bec and Bridge, Sheike, Sophia Webster, Scanlan Theodore, Mossman, Rebecca Vallance, and Bianca and Bridgett are all great for us vertically challenged ladies.

Have you ever made a style faux pas?

Ha ha, all the time!

But there was a time in my 20s when, after a few drinks, I agreed to be a model in a hair competition.

My long hair was chopped into a very short pixie cut and dyed fire engine red.

At the same time, I was working as a waitress in a restaurant where we dressed up in character, and I was Tinkerbell in a lime green tutu. Not a great combo of colours or style.

What’s the most you have ever spent on an outfit?

I mix high and low, so the price tag isn’t too eye-watering. However, I recently did splurge on a pair of classic black Louboutin heels.

What is the most surprising thing in your wardrobe?

Probably the number of cat-eye sunglasses I own! I have a problem. I love crazy glasses.

Top three wardrobe must-haves?

A great fitted blazer, statement heels and a stylish hat (important in Queensland, I have a Will and Bear one I live in now).

What is the most sentimental item in your wardrobe and why?

A brooch and a necklace my kids made me for Mother’s Day when they were little.

Summer or winter fashion?

Can I say in-between? I love wearing a T-shirt, jeans, heels and a blazer.

What kind of handbag do you use?

A Sans Beast black and gold crossbody bag. It goes with everything and encourages me to carry less clutter.

Denim or dresses?

Dresses. One decision. But my absolute favourite thing to wear is a power suit.

Minimalist or clothes hoarder?

A little bit of both – I finished growing at 14, so there are things I could have kept forever but have been told are a little past their prime.

Heels or sneakers?

Always, always heels. I’m 158cm tall.

Is there anything from your wardrobe you’ve regretted throwing out?

I wish I’d kept my formal dress from Year 10. Not because I want to wear it again (good God no!), but because my mum made it and my daughter would get a big kick out of seeing it.

What would you buy if money were no object?

A classic Chanel handbag.

How many pairs of shoes do you own? And do you have a favourite pair?

I own maybe 50? I take very good care of them and store them in their boxes.

My absolute favourite is a pair of Sophia Webster Chiara heels with butterfly wings on the back. They always make me feel like a party is imminent.
