An arrest warrant has been issued after a business owner facing a number of serious domestic-violence charges, including three counts of rape, failed to front a North Queensland court.
“A Bail Act warrant is issued and his bail is forfeit,” Magistrate Cathy McLennan ruled in the Ingham Magistrates Court on Friday morning.
The man or his business cannot be identified to protect the identity of his victim.
He is facing a total of eight charges, all of which are classified as domestic-violence offences.
The charges are two counts of contravention of a domestic-violence order, stealing and assaults occasioning bodily harm.
The alleged sex crimes are one count of sexual assault and three counts of rape.
