A female manager of a Gold Coast McDonalds has been assaulted in the early hours of Sunday morning - with police making an arrest.
It’s alleged a 33-year-old man entered the fast food outlet near Westfield Helensvale shopping centre about 3.30am.
“For reasons only known to him, he has assaulted the female manager at the restaurant,” Acting Superintendent Jason Tuffley alleged.
Acting Supt. Tuffley further claimed: “This assault was unprovoked. He’s then exited the McDonalds attended to the service station next-door where he has wilfully damaged a motor vehicle. He has then left the scene entirely.”
The police dog squad tracked a man to the Helensvale Tavern where he was arrested.
“He was heavily intoxicated when located (by police),” Act Supt Tuffley said.
“He was taken to the Southport Watchhouse where he was charged with two criminal offences of assault and wilful damage.”
The McDonald’s manager wasn’t physically injured from the assault.
