Luna Group director Trent Redman announces the opening of Juju in Nobby Beach

A hotly anticipated European-inspired bar and restaurant is about to open at Nobby Beach and its owners say it’s unlike anything else on the Gold Coast.

‘Truly unforgettable’: First look inside new Euro-style venue

A hotly anticipated European-inspired bar and restaurant on the southern Gold Coast will open on Saturday.

Luna Group director Trent Redman said new Nobby Beach venue Juju was for “those who have grown tired of nightclubs, but still crave the thrill dancing their way into the night”.

Mr Redman said the modern Australian restaurant – which occupies the high-profile former Hellenika building – was inspired by Croatia, Spain and Mexico.

“The Gold Coast is this iconic party and holiday destination but there really isn’t an offering at the moment that caters for locals and visitors over 30 years of age who no longer want to go to Surfers Paradise but are wanting a nice meal, quality beverages and then to cut loose for a few hours,” he said.

The new “chic, playful and vibrant” venue features raised booths, a rooftop lounge bar and an open-style kitchen.

“Our goal is to give our patrons a truly unforgettable hospitality experience,” Mr Redman said.

“It’s our desire to bring a pinch of playfulness and mischief to a setting that is traditionally quite reserved and stale.”

Mr Redman said the menu boasted artisan foods and cocktails including tomahawks, sashimi, steak tartare and duck.

“I’m not biased, but the menu is phenomenal,” he said.

“Every single dish has its moment,”

Mr Redman said he jumped at the chance to be part of the ever-growing hospitality scene at Nobby Beach, likening it to Brisbane’s James St.

“It’s the place to be,” he said.

“People are travelling from north and south to experience the epicentre for elevated entertainment and dining here.

“If you were to label it, I’d say it feels like Brisbane’s iconic James St adjoining The Calile Hotel.”

After its launch on October 12 the venue will open for dinner and after-dinner entertainment from Thursday to Sunday, as well as Sunday brunch.
