A man accused of the ram raid of a Gold Coast pharmacy on Thursday morning will remain behind bars for several weeks.

Zachary Colin Steven Gillies didn’t appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Friday morning where his matter was briefly mentioned.

The 20-year-old is charged with unlawful use of motor vehicles and two counts of enter premises and commit.

Gillies’ solicitor Kali-Rose Walker didn’t make an application for bail and requested the case be listed for sentencing.

Gillies was remanded in custody to reappear on November 15.

A 25-year-old woman from Coolangatta has also been charged with possessing dangerous drugs and buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines or hazardous poisons. She is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on November 11.

Police alleged a stolen Range Rover was used to ram the Chempro Chemists on Grice Ave in Paradise Point around 1.30am on Thursday.

The vehicle had been reported stolen from a Helensvale address between 2.30pm on Tuesday and 1.30am the following morning.

A 25-year-old woman was taken into custody at the scene by responding police, while a man allegedly fled.

Paramedics assessed the woman – who had suffered minor injuries – but said she did not need to be taken to hospital.

At about 10.45am police arrested a 20-year-old man from Southport.
