The company behind a trendy but trouble-plagued restaurant and bar has gone into liquidation.
Liquidator Glen Oldman was appointed to The Henchman Miami, which is solely directed and owned by Jared Fairall, 35, on Friday.
The bar, which is usually open Thursdays to Sundays, was still posting to its social media accounts over the weekend and its website remained live on Monday morning.
It is unknown how much money is owed to creditors by The Henchman, which was known for its live music and pub grub.
Work on stage three of the Gold Coast light rail has been under way close to the venue, where the Miami North station is set to be built.
The Gold Coast Bulletin has made multiple attempts to contact Mr Fairall for comment.
According to ASIC records, Mr Fairall also lives at the Henchman Ave bar in the bustling seaside suburb.
Mr Fairall and his business have endured some rocky years – in 2022, he was found not guilty of raping a customer at his home on the evening of February 1, 2020, after meeting her while working at the Miami bar.
The same year, Joel Jaimie Pavlides was handed a four-year suspended prison sentence for trafficking cocaine to an undercover cop via social media app Snapchat while working behind the bar of The Henchman.
Last year, The Henchman appealed a guilty verdict in which it was found to have breached pandemic lockdown laws and ordered to pay more than $6000 in penalties and costs.
The company had pleaded not guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court to disobeying the public health directives on July 31, 2021.
The court was told it had previously been fined more than $6000 on June 13, 2020 and October 2, 2020 for failing to comply with Covid restrictions.
The appeal is listed for Southport District Court on March 28.
In December 2021, Mr Fairall was accused of making abusive comments online allegedly calling a woman “the worst type of human in the world” and a Facebook group she participates in an “anti-male, d**k-hating, ugly side of feminism slag whores group”.
