The city is also to receive a new special school, after the details in the State Budget were released on Tuesday.
The Government’s Delivering for the Gold Coast package highlights the following education initiatives:
* A new special school at Coomera as part of an $815 million new schools commitment.

Education Minister and Surfers Paradise MP John-Paul Langbroek said the $21.9 billion Education Budget would provide the foundation for a “fresh start”, with more teachers and safer classrooms.
The delivery of special schools, including a new one at Coomera, was the largest ever investment in those campuses, he said.
He added that the new cost of living initiative would provide $100 per student in primary schools to help with out-of-pocket expenses.
“After a decade of Labor neglect, we are putting resources where they’re needed most to better support teachers, principals and school staff,” he said.
In his budget speech, Treasurer David Janetzki said a “strong start in life is key to a better future”.
“We want no young Queenslander to miss out on the opportunities and experiences that can help them grow,” he said.
The budget also includes a new $100 Back to School Boost for every primary school student in Queensland.
“This is a new initiative that will support families with the cost of excursions, schoolbooks,
uniforms – whatever they need to give their kids the best start to the school year,” Mr Janetzki said.
“It applies across Queensland no matter where you go to school.”
More than $9.4bn has been committed to the state’s public school system over the next 10 years, through a new deal with the Commonwealth.
An additional $220m will be spent to slash red tape and provide 550 more teacher aides and support teachers through the More Teachers Better Education Plan.
