Motorists are being faced with heavy delays after multiple crashes have caused gridlock traffic for morning commuters.
Emergency services were called after reports that a car had rolled on the M1 at Gaven in the northbound lanes at about 6.30am on Thursday.
A Gold Coast police spokesman said officers had to close lanes three and four until the cleared the area. The lanes reopened at about 7.10am.
Paramedics assessed a man who was in a stable condition and declined transport to hospital.
At about 7.30am emergency services were called to another crash on the northbound off-ramp in Helensvale.
An ambulance spokeswoman said the driver had crashed into the guard rail but did not require transport to hospital.
The two crashes were causing traffic mayhem for morning commuters with the southbound lanes backed up to Ormeau.
