Updated, 3pm Tuesday: Gold Coast police say they are yet to make any arrests after two men entered a home on Chevron Island on Sunday night and stabbed an occupant.
Emergency services attended a residence at Adori St, Surfers Paradise, after receiving a report of a home invasion about 11pm Sunday in which a man in his forties was stabbed in the leg.
Paramedics assessed the man and took him to Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
On Tuesday morning, Gold Coast Chief Superintendent Craig Hanlon provided new details about the home invasion, revealing the injured occupant “had his leg slashed” with a knife and also sustained a “knock to his head”.
Reports from the occupant indicated two offenders, described as being caucasian, aged in their twenties, and wearing dark clothes, entered via a sliding door.
Superintendent Hanlon said detectives from the criminal investigation branch continued to investigate the matter, but at this stage had no suspects.
The dog squad attended the address in the wake of the invasion, but because of the site topography, it was “difficult to track those people,” he added.
Detectives also don’t know whether the pair attended the residence on foot or used a vehicle.
