The mastermind behind some of the most visited cafes on the Gold Coast has opened a new “one-of-a-kind, magical” venue.

Former Paddock Bakery owner Chloe Watts has revealed her newest venture, Tarte Tea Garden, at her ever-growing cafe hub in Currumbin.

After the success of the second Tarte eatery on Currumbin Creek, which opened in August 2023, Ms Watts said it was her mission to create a compound for southern Gold Coast locals.

“We’re so fortunate to have such a stunning location,” she said.

“Our aim was to expand what we offer to the community and provide something they don’t easily have access to, (which is) a high tea experience in a beautiful rose garden right here in Currumbin.”

The new space, which is wrapped in roses, gardenias and lavender, showcases mini pastries, matcha, tea, cloud drinks and even homewares.

“There’s something magical about enjoying a mini pastry, freshly brewed tea, or a scone with a recipe passed down through generations,” Ms Watts said.

“Whether you opt for the full experience or just a mini (treat) and a rich, traditional French hot chocolate, you’re transported to a Parisian garden.”

Ms Watts said the mini versions of their famous Tarte pastries and bagels had been a “hit” with locals.

“It’s been described as the best high tea people have ever had,” she said.

“We’re also getting great feedback on our playful matcha and cloud drinks, but the real crowd-pleaser is our rich, house-made French hot chocolate, made with four types of chocolate and served with fresh whipped cream or a torched marshmallow, alongside a scone.”

Ms Watts said she was grateful to have created a loyal following from southern Gold Coasters since opening her first Tarte Bakery and Cafe in Burleigh in 2020.

“There’s some more very exciting things in the works,” she said.

Tarte Tea Garden is at 2 Thrower Drive, Currumbin.
