Plans for golf training centre in Grovedale revealed

Plans for a golf training centre, complete with simulators, putting green and massage facilities have been lodged with Geelong council.

A golf training facility complete with simulators and a putting green could be headed to Grovedale.

Sincock Planning has lodged an application with the City of Greater Geelong to transform a vacant 742sq m warehouse at 24 Capital Dve into a golf training centre.

If the plans are approved, The Golf Institute would be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Golf lovers would able to access four golf simulators and a putting green for classes and individual training sessions.

According to the plans, the site would include an equipment sales and repairs area, a gym, a lounge and a massage therapy centre.

The planning documents state the centre will provide “holistic golf training and practice facilities.”

“We wish to provide a brilliant service to our members, with the specific objective of teaching properly and helping them grow their game,” the proposal read.

The plans said coaches would teach students to improve their swing, their overall golf technique and fitness.

“We are also able to provide high-end Mizuno golf equipment to further help them achieve their golfing goals,” the proposal said.

The proposal does not include any external building works and seeks to retain the existing on-site carparking and vehicle access.

There are nine car parks available one site in front of the warehouse, as well as one disabled space, and a waver of car parks has also been lodged to council.
