Mr Harris said the secret to the making the best fish and chips was surprisingly simple.

“Clean oil and fresh fish – the finer details are individual for everyone,” he said.

He said flake, chips and calamari continued to be the most popular items on the menu.

But, he said anyone who wanted to taste local fish should try the King George whiting.

Mr Harris said the team would now start prepare for the busy summer months.

“We think we are going to have one of the biggest summer’s on record,” he said.

“It’s really, really exciting.”
