Man fined, another to be charged following bloody Curlewis weekend brawl
A man has been fined almost $800 by police after a bloody brawl in Curlewis on AFL grand final day that left a woman in hospital.

A man has been handed a hefty fine after a bloody brawl on the Bellarine Peninsula on AFL grand final day.
Police were called to Centennial Blvd in Curlewis after a fight broke out between five people about 8pm on Saturday.
Shocked neighbours said emergency services swarmed the area with multiple police and ambulance units at the scene.
A witness said they heard a young woman screaming and saw blood on her face while another person said multiple people had been pushed to the ground.
A 21-year-old Curlewis woman was taken to Geelong hospital in a stable condition after the brawl.
A 30-year-old Curlewis man was treated by paramedics at the scene for minor injuries and was spoken to by police.
He has since been fined $790 for riotous behaviour.
Police used pepper spray on the group to regain control of the situation.
One neighbour said they saw some of those involved in the brawl use garden hoses from people’s front yards to wash the burning substance from their eyes.
A 34-year-old Curlewis man was arrested at the scene and interviewed by officers.
Police said he was expected to be charged for his involvement in the brawl.
