Barwon Health has revealed the vaccination status of Covid patients in Geelong hospital.

As of 9am Wednesday there were 34 patients in Geelong hospital with Covid-19, 13 of whom were in ICU.

The inpatients came from Geelong and across the state.

According to Barwon Health, as of Wednesday, 71 per cent of Covid-19 inpatients were unvaccinated, while 29 per cent had had one dose of a coronavirus vaccine.

None of the 34 Covid-19 patients in Geelong hospital are fully vaccinated.

Greater Geelong recorded 16 new Covid cases on Wednesday, as the virus shut a local primary school.

A number of tier one exposure sites have been published across the region.

The Surf Coast and Golden Plains each recorded one new case, according to health department data published Wednesday.

Barwon Health spokeswoman Kate Bibby said a number of the new Geelong cases were known contacts of confirmed cases and had been isolating.

“Currently unlinked cases continue to be investigated by the public health unit,” Ms Bibby said.

In a message to families posted to Facebook late Tuesday, principal Joel Riddle said three confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been reported at Lara Primary School.

“As a result, the site, and its outside school hours care, is now closed to all students, staff and community members until further notice,” he said.

“This means no on-site supervision will be available.

“While the Department of Health (DH) conducts its investigation, staff and students who were present on 6, 7 and 8 October must stay home and limit their movements until advised otherwise.

“Primary close contacts have been identified and are isolating until they receive further advice from DH.

“If you are identified as a primary close contact, DH will get in touch with you directly.”

It comes after it was revealed Clonard College was forced to close due to a Covid scare.

The health department has listed the following tier one exposure sites:

- Bomboras Torquay, at 37 The Esplanade, on October 6 between 11.50am and 12.50pm;

- 2Cousins Shisha Hookah Lounge and Cafe, at 130 Moorabool Street Geelong, on October 9 between 12am and 2am;

- Biryani King at 39 Malop Street Geelong, on October 4 between 1.35pm and 2.45pm and October 5 between 7.15pm and 9.25pm;and,

- The Groove Train Waurn Ponds at Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre on October 8 between 10.40am and 12.15pm and October 9 between1.30pm and 3pm.

People at tier one sites in listed time frames must get tested immediately and quarantine for 14 days from exposure.

Victoria reported 1571 new locally-acquired Covid cases on Wednesday.
