A homeless woman is accused of repeatedly slamming a car door on an unconscious man’s head after she punched him multiple times in Geelong’s CBD.

Jasmine Mccarry, 31, is alleged to have unleashed the attack at the intersection of Brougham and Moorabool streets on Friday last week.

A witness told police he heard a car’s horn sounding intermittently and when he looked out his window saw the alleged victim slumped out of the driver’s side of the vehicle.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Kylie Jane said the witness saw Mccarry punch the man in the face with open and closed fists about six times while he was unconscious.

“The accused then reached over the complainant and slammed the car door repeatedly on his head before the witness intervened,” Constable Jane said.

The court heard the witness spoke to Mccarry and found a knife in the car.

When police arrived at the scene, they searched the vehicle and found blood spattered on the driver’s side.

The man suffered multiple injuries, including lacerations, swelling and facial fractures.

The court heard the alleged victim was going into surgery on Thursday.

Magistrate John Bentley released Ms Mccarry on bail and she will be back before the court on December 13.
