GMHBA opens Belmont health hub

A new multidisciplinary centre brings together medical, dental and physiotherapy services with an adjoining pharmacy.

Health insurer GMHBA is opening its first health hub in Belmont, allowing patients to see connected health services in a single location.

The multidisciplinary centre brings together medical, dental and physiotherapy services with an adjoining pharmacy.

Located on High St, the purpose-built facility featuring modern consulting rooms and technology will open on Monday, July 31.

Services at the centre are open to all community members, not just those insured with GMHBA.

Chief operating officer (health and branch network) Natalie Lanarus said the aim was to support patients on their health journeys and connect them with specialist services, with a focus on preventive care.

“We are thrilled to open the hub and excited about the positive impact it will have on the health and wellbeing of our members and patients,” she said.

The facility is co-located with Community Care Chemist, which will provide access to medication, diabetes consultations, vaccinations, blood glucose testing and more.

Community Care Chemist chief executive Nick Salkeld said the partnership was a great example of two Geelong-based organisations working collaboratively to ensure timely access to primary health care for local patients.

“The partnership furthers opportunities for collaboration among health practitioners, including pharmacists, GPs, dentists and other health practitioners, improving health outcomes for patients in the region, all within the convenience of the health hub,” he said.
