St Mary’s goalkicking machine Sam Dobson hit double figures with a stunning 10-goal haul against Bell Park in the Saints’ 52-point win.
Dobson proved unstoppable at Hamlyn Park, booting 10 majors and two behinds to go with 20 disposals and 13 marks to put himself 13 goals ahead in the GFL goalkicking tally.
Fellow Saints forward Pat Dowling could have had a big day himself but finished with 1.6, while Sam Christensen dominated in the ruck with 48 hit-outs, 26 disposals and 10 clearances.
Former Geelong listed defender Nick Stevens also won plenty of it for the Saints with 30 disposals, eight marks and a goal as Lachlan Patten led the way for the Dragons on the inside, racking up 37 disposals, 24 contested, 13 clearances, seven tackles and seven inside 50s.
Stevens wasn’t the only former AFL listed player to shine with ex-Saint and Cats ruckman Ryan Abbott (25 disposals, 38 hit-outs, eight clearances, two goals) and former Roo and Cat Cameron Delaney (four goals, 12 disposals and seven marks) helping Grovedale to its fourth win of the season over St Albans.
Ball-magnet Fletcher Keck finished with the top disposal count for the round with a whopping 43 disposals and 39 uncontested possessions, while Sam Donegan finished with 35 disposals, 10 clearances and nine inside 50s himself.

Bayley Cockerill tallied 27 disposals and 17 contested possessions, while Brad Gerrard racked up a game-high 33 touches and 11 marks for North Shore.
South Barwon star Andrew Boseley kicked four goals to finish second in the league goalkicking behind Dobson as Fraser Fort (20 disposals, 13 contested, 2.4) also had a significant impact in the Swans’ upset win over Colac.
There were plenty of high-end performers for Leopold as an inspired second-half comeback saw it surge past Newtown & Chilwell, with Mitch Patten kicking five majors and Tevan Nofi dominating the air with 26 disposals, nine intercept marks, seven contested marks and a goal.
Lions ball-winners Luke Justin (25 disposals, two goals) and Marcus Thompson (18 disposals, 16 contested, two goals) both kicked multiple goals as Matthew Boag (33 disposals, seven clearances) and Blake Sutterby (31 disposals, nine clearances and a goal) were their prolific selves for the Eagles.
