GDFL star off to tribunal for striking

Inverleigh premiership star Ryan Robertson has been hit with a four-match suspension for his brutal bump on Jahd Anderson as a Thomson gun will head to the tribunal to contest a significant striking charge.

Robertson came off the square in the opening seconds of the match and cleaned up Anderson who had to be stretchered off with concussion, with the Hawk accepting the ban levelled at him by the AFL Barwon Match Review Panel.

But Tigers goalkicker Brent Jacques is also in hot water after beng offered a four-match ban himself for striking Michael Grozdanovski in the third quarter, while Tigers midfielder midfielder Nathan Bissett has accepted a one-match suspension for a headbutt.

Vision shows Jacques collect Grozdanovski with a raised elbow in a marking contest on the wing, with the small forward to challenge the suspension at the AFL Barwon Tribunal next Wednesday.

Grozdanovski was slow to get up from the hit but walked off the ground.

It was a dirty day for Jacques after starring in the previous two finals, restricted to just two touches and finishing with -11 Premier Data ranking points.

Coming out of retirement to play for Thomson this season, Jacques missed out on what would have been his farewell game in 2022 after being suspended for two matches for rough conduct in round 17.
