Emergency services on scene at a collision involving multiple cars on Latrobe Tce in Geelong

Traffic is being diverted from Latrobe Tce after a multiple-car collision at a major intersection on Thursday afternoon.

There has been a collision on one of Geelong’s busiest roads involving three cars, with traffic being diverted near a major intersection.

Paramedics, police and fire crews are at the scene of the smash on Latrobe Tce believed to have occurred at a set of traffic lights at the intersection with McKillop St about 3.30pm.

One witness at the scene said south-bound traffic was being diverted down McKillop St, with long delays for drivers.

Geelong Highway Patrol and fire trucks were assisting with the operation.

Members of the Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) helped with at least one patient.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed there were only minor injuries.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said three people had been taken to Geelong hospital.
