A Belmont eyesore has been given a new lease on life, set to service a parade of pampered pooches.

The Roslyn Rd shop, formerly a milk bar, has been left derelict for years with many in the community curious to see what lay in stall for the graffiti-covered building.

Newly renovated with a fresh coat of paint and ready to accommodate a dog grooming studio, the rundown husk will now host the new location for Stylin’ Dogs.

Owner Michelle Greenlee decided to move on from her established store along High St and purchase the ex-milk bar to give it a facelift.

Neighbours, residents and those across the road at Roslyn Primary School are sure to welcome the updated facade, especially considering Geelong Advertiser readers nominated the milk bar as one of the city’s worst eyesores in 2021.

Ms Greenlee said the once abandoned shop would no longer haunt nearby residents, rather it would provide a “safety-savvy, happiness-driven, paw-some experience” for pets and owners alike.

To celebrate the grand reopening, four and two-legged customers have been invited to attend the launch at 10am on May 25.

Alongside the pet groovers, Ms Greenlee’s other venture, Indigo Pear, will also set up shop at the newly acquired Roslyn Rd property.

A pet shop that offers a selection of trendy treats, nutritional food and accessories, Ms Greenlee established Indigo Pear four years ago to offer pet owners a safer selection of pet amenities.
