A previous winner is among the nominees for Geelong’s best hairdresser 2024, with more than 60 entries submitted.
The Geelong Advertiser put the call out for community members across Geelong and the Surf Coast to nominate their pick for the region’s best hairdresser.
Previous winner Narelle Gibson from Hermosa Hair has been nominated.
Ms Gibson won the reader vote for two years straight, in 2019 and 2020, and also won in 2022.
“(Narelle) creates the most gorgeous hairstyles and is the best colourist,” one nominator said.
“She is so professional. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.”
Another resident said Kate Ruiter from Salon V’Darra Kate was “an expert” at finding the right colour and cut to accentuate her clients natural beauty.
“She is able to make everyone feel special,” they said.
“She is extremely dedicated to her job and helping to build the confidence of all her clients.”
Last year, Zoe Walker from Soli Salon was named the best hair stylist in Geelong in the Addy’s ultimate formal guide.

We have relaunched the Best of Geelong series to help our readers discover the incredible businesses and individuals in our community. The way it works is in three stages:
1. We put out an initial call for nominations over a two-day period. This happens on our various social media accounts as well as on our website.
2. After nominations close we open the voting stage on our website. The businesses or individuals that received the highest number of nominations will progress to the voting stage. The voting stage runs for one week.
3. Once voting has closed a winner will be announced on our website usually a few days after the voting stage concludes. At the same time we will also announce up to nine other businesses with the highest amount of votes in the poll.
