Geelong will take on rivals Hawthorn in a practice match at GMHBA Stadium in what is set to bumper recruit Bailey Smith’s first hitout as a Cat against opposition.
The Cats will host the Hawks on Monday February 17, with the match simulation kicking off from 2pm.
It is unclear whether the hitout will be open to the public with further details to be announced in the lead-up.
Smith will be the big watch in the contest while fellow off-season signing Jack Martin will be eager to press for opening round selection if he manages to get through the pre-season unscathed.

Geelong often faces off against Hawthorn in the pre-season, including one marathon practice match that comprised of eight periods.
Hawthorn’s clash against Geelong in round 17 this year was the first time the Hawks had played at GMHBA Stadium in front of a crowd in 18 years.
Geelong won that match by 51 points and also defeated the Hawks by 36 points on Easter Monday.
