A woman has been taken to hospital after emergency crews extracted her from a car due to a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning.

A Queensland Police spokesman said they received reports of the crash at 7:56am on the corner of Ross River Road and Anne Street at Aitkenvale.

The QPS spokesman advised the second vehicle involved had left the scene.

Paramedics were on scene treating the woman for chest injuries and cuts after she was removed from the car, and taken to Townsville University Hospital in a stable condition.
