There’s still plenty of life in this tried and true cult favourite.
Dracula’s, the macabre, cabaret-comedy spectacular that has wowed and astounded audiences for years, is set to return, with their touring show revival setting it’s sights on Townsville as part of an expanded tour line-up for 2023.
The show, which has it’s origins in Newman Entertainment’s horror-comedy themed cabaret venue in Melbourne, travelled across the southern states last year in a sold-out season for they titled the Dracula’s: The Resurrection Tour.
Boasting incredible production values, live music and burlesque as well as plenty of other fan favourites, tour manager Luke Newman said demand was so high for the show that extra dates had been added to this year’s Townsville stop.
“The demand has been really strong already, so we’ve added in a fourth show, which is really exciting. We’re expecting some sellout audiences and a great, party atmosphere every night,” Mr Newman said.
He said the troupe of performers were aiming to have people ‘dancing in the aisles’ at the end of each showing.
“It’s circus, it’s rock and roll, it’s full of comedy. We want people leaving thinking ‘what the hell was all that about? That was the best night ever’.”
Each step of the tour features over an hour of entertainment, with two 40-minute acts separated by an intermission.
The show will tour across a number of southern venues throughout May, before heading north to Cairns on May 26 and 27, and arriving at Townsville Civic Theatre for shows on June 8, 9 and 10.
Tickets are available for the show online at ticketshop.
