Disgraced former Nine news boss Darren Wick has been spotted for the first time since allegations were levelled against him tipped the broadcaster into a scandal and led to a management overhaul.
Wick departed Nine in March last year, with programming boss Michael Healey paying tribute to his work as he departed the network.
There were claims at the time Wick received a $1 million payout.
The journalist subsequently faced serious accusations of inappropriate behaviour that led to Nine engaging an independent company to run a review of culture within the organisation.
The longstanding news director has kept a low-profile since the scandal erupted.
Former colleagues have told Confidential Unleashed they are unaware of any moves by Wick to re-enter the workforce.
Wick did not respond to calls from Confidential after being photographed at his northern beaches Sydney home.
In October, an independent report conducted by Intersection into culture at Nine Entertainment found a “a systemic issue with abuse of power and authority: bullying, discrimination: and sexual harassment”.
It made 22 recommendations covering foundational to intermediate and advanced changes to reset culture at the media company.
Nine Entertainment is owner of a number of large media businesses including Channel 9, 2GB radio and the Sydney Morning Herald.
Multiple top executives departed Nine throughout last year, including then CEO Mike Sneesby stepping down in September.
He was replaced by interim chief executive Matt Stanton with a permanent successor yet to be announced.
