Budget airline Jetstar is giving Territorians the chance to take flight to Australia’s two biggest cities from $159 at the start of next year as part of its nation-wide ‘Fare Dinkum Sale’.
The sale, launched on Tuesday, includes one-way fares from Darwin to Sydney and Melbourne starting at $159.
Club Jetstar members will have first grabs from 11.30am Tuesday before the fares open to the general public from midnight.
The sale, which excludes checked baggage, will run until 11.59pm on August 3 or until flights sell out.
Travel dates include mid-January to mid-March 2026.
As part of the sale, the airline is also offering one-way fares from Melbourne and Sydney to Uluru from $119.
Outside of sales, Jetstar currently offers one-way fares from $153 on its newest NT route – Darwin to the Gold Coast.
Travel dates, while varying, according to Jetstar, include mid-August to mid-September 2025.
In a statement, a Jetstar spokesperson said the airline was “committed to helping Territorians take off more for less with low fares”.
“Capacity growth on our capital city routes to and from Darwin has seen us offer more than 15,000 seats for under $200 in the past year,” they said.
“And our newest route from Darwin to one of Australia’s premier holiday destinations – the Gold Coast – is continuing to perform strongly, supporting tourism in both the NT and Queensland.”
Beyond the Northern Territory, Jetstar announced more than 75,000 discounted one-way fares as part of the nation-wide sale.
“This further increase in domestic capacity reflects our commitment to making travel more accessible and affordable for all Australians, while supporting local economies and vital tourism across the country,” said Jenn Armor, Jetstar’s Executive Manager, Customer.
The membership fee to join Club Jetstar is $65, while the current membership fee for renewal of an existing Club Jetstar membership is $55.
