DARWIN International Airport will be home to a new aerospace manufacturing precinct.
Set on 20ha, the precinct will ensure the NT is further boosted as a critical location in aviation.
The first tenant of the space will be Amphibian Aerospace Industries, who will be working on upgraded version of the Albatross amphibious aircraft for global exportation.
Chief Minister Michael Gunner said the precinct will create jobs and new training opportunities for Territorians.
“The Northern Territory is Australia’s best investment. It means jobs for Territorians – and jobs mean growth,” he said.
“Supporting this new aviation precinct sets the Territory up to further support more industry and more growth — Developing this industry is a key enabler to other sectors in the Territory including energy, agribusiness, mining, tourism and international education and training.”
