A power outage has been reported at Bohle Plains after a car crashed into a power pole.

Police were called at 4:30pm on Thursday after the vehicle struck the pole on Hervey Range Road.

Ergon Energy crews are currently on site with the outage reported at the Hervey Range on/off ramps and Harris Crossing.

Affected areas include Alice River, Bohle Plains, Condon, Gumlow, Kirwan, Rangewood and Townsville.

Ergon reports more than 1300 customers have been affected.

Delays are expected for motorists across all lanes and directions, with drivers urged to proceed with caution.

Police advised that the driver of the vehicle was unharmed.
