A school in Far North Queensland is on high alert following reports a man chased students and attempting to lure them into his car.
Parents and carers of students studying at Trinity Anglican School’s Kewarra Beach campus received an email from the education provider on Wednesday afternoon notifying them of incidents involving a middle-aged man, reported to be driving a yellow Jeep in the area.
“This individual has been following children, including some from our campus, and has reportedly chased them, attempted to lure them to his car, and, on at least one occasion, displayed a knife,” the email read.
“It has also been noted that he has been seen near our campus.
“This matter has been reported to the police and is being discussed in several Facebook posts. “Please remain vigilant, discuss this concern with your children, and consider any necessary adjustments to their routines to ensure their safety.”
Queensland Police were contacted for comment.
