Roll’d outlet with table service to open at Smithfield Shopping Centre

Fresh Vietnamese flavours are coming to a major Cairns shopping centre, with the popular chain set to offer a first. WHAT TO EXPECT

A NEW outlet from a brand known for championing fresh Vietnamese flavours will open in Smithfield Shopping Centre this month and, in a Queensland first the restaurant, will offer table service.

Workers are busy at the new Roll’d shop in the Smithfield Shopping Centre dining precinct preparing the new outlet for franchise owner Lam Son Nguyen.

Late August has been slated for the store’s grand opening.

The new store is the second Roll’d franchise of Mr Nguyen and follows the successful Roll’d Cairns Central outlet that has now operated for 10 years.

Nationwide, Roll’d operates 71 stores.

Mr Nguyen, a deeply passionate foodie, arrived in Australia in 2016 to attend university before graduating from a commercial cookery and hospitality course in 2019.

“It was my passion for fresh food that sparked my curiosity about joining the Roll’d family,” he said.

“I’m really excited about further sharing traditional Vietnamese cuisine and with it culture and cultural knowledge.

“I’m incredibly grateful and proud to further engage Queenslanders with traditional Vietnamese dishes that hold a deeply sentimental place in my heart.”

A total of 25 fully trained staff will run the new Smithfield outlet which will entice a new Northern Beaches customer base with menu items to be announced through the centre’s Instagram account.

Mr Nguyen was excited to be involved in a Queensland first at the Smithfield store that will pioneer table service in the Sunshine State.

“We’re very much looking forward to bringing together friends and family with delicious food and service,” he said.

“At Smithfield the menu is focused on small plates and mains, all designed for sharing – in true Vietnamese fashion.”

The new Roll’d outlet is currently on the hunt for new team members to work at the Smithfield restaurant.

Managers, front-of-house staff and cooks are needed.
