Rescue helicopter winched motorcyclist after Tablelands crash

A man who was injured in a motorcycle crash on a dirt track at Wongabel on the Tablelands on Saturday morning has been safely winched aboard and transported by rescue helicopter to Cairns Hospital.
The Queensland Ambulance Service confirmed the man had been rescued.
“A patient was airlifted to Cairns Hospital in a stable condition following a motorcycle crash on Carrington Falls Firebreak at 10:15am,” a QAS spokesman said.
A Queensland Police Service representative said officers attended the incident.
The patient’s injuries are not yet known.
HELICOPTER CALLED TO CRASH
Emergency services including the Queensland Rescue Helicopter were at the scene of a serious motorbike crash and are preparing to winch the patient aboard.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services representative said the incident which occurred around 10am on September 24, on Carrington Falls Rd, Wongabel south of Atherton and around 82km south west of Cairns.
She said members of the Atherton Rural Fire Service were at the incident. to assist ambulance officers.
“The Rescue Helicopter has arrived at the scene to winch the motorbike rider who came off what we understand was a dirt bike on a dirt track,” she said.
“Queensland Ambulance Service called QFES at 10:29am and requested our assistance with the rider’s extraction as the patient was on a remote track.
“The paramedics needed more assistance in case it could be difficult.”
