Police have identified the lost 4-year-old found in Smithfield

Police were seeking public assistance in identifying a young girl who was found in Smithfield April 19.

Police have found the parents of a 4-year-old who went missing in Smithfield.

Around 8.30pm on April 19, police were called to a shopping centre on the Captain Cook Highway, after members of the public found the girl near the bus stop.

She is described as being approximately 4 years old, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, with brown eyes and brown hair.

But police have now confirmed the parents have been identified.
