Medics called to nail gun accident and two car Bruce Highway crash
Paramedics have rushed to a construction site on the Cassowary Coast following reports a tradie has shot himself in the eye.

It’s been a busy morning for Far North paramedics who have been called to a two car crash in Cairns and reports of an eye injury sustained in accident with a nail gun at a Cassowary Coast construction site.
At 7.40am emergency services were called to a two car crash at the corner of the Bruce Highway and Robert Rd in Bentley Park.
It’s understood a 90-year-old man was injured in the collision.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said on arrival paramedics assessed the man who declined transport to hospital.
“The person in the other car was not injured,” she said.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said emergency service vehicles remained at the busy intersection and were impacting inbound traffic.
“But it seems to be moving OK,” she said.
“I believe emergency services are still attending to one person.”
Queensland Traffic advised inbound lanes heading towards Cairns were affected and delays are expected.
Further south in Innisfail paramedics were called to a workplace accident on Edith St at 7.43am.
Arriving at the construction site medics assessed a man in his 20s for an eye injury.
“At this stage we don’t know how serious it is,” the QAS spokeswoman said.
“They have not come back with a sit rep (situation report) yet.”
Overnight two patients were transported to Coen Primary Health Care Centre with minor injuries after a single-vehicle crash on Peninsula Developmental Road at 12.12am.
The pair were taken in a stable condition to the centre.
