Man, 21, unconscious in shallow water after coming off bridge near Kuranda
A young man has sustained a serious head injury and almost drowned after falling into shallow water beneath a bridge near Kuranda.

A 21-year-old man is still in hospital after he was pulled unconscious from shallow water beneath the Hickory Road bridge near Kuranda after apparently falling from the bridge.
The man was pulled out of shallow water after nearly drowning from the Barron River near the intersection of Jeffrey Rd and Hickory Rd.
A QAS spokesman confirmed paramedics were called at 4pm after reports of a possible downing after a fall.
The spokesman said the man had a serious head injury but was breathing and had been vomiting.
It is understood the man was pulled from the water unconscious and not breathing with bystanders performing CPR.
The man was later transported to Cairns Hospital where he remains in a stable condition as of Tuesday afternoon
