Fire crews attend grass blaze caused by car fire at Smithfield Bypass

A car has caught fire on the Smithfield Bypass at Smithfield.
The car caught fire at around 9.15am this morning October 30, when the driver pulled over the fire then spread to kerbside grass near the corner of McGregor Road.
Fire crews arrived at around 9.26am, they put out the car fire by 9.30am and extinguishes the grass fire at around 9.50am.
A spokesman from the Queensland Fire Service said the grass fire was relatively small and quickly contained.
A spokeswoman from the Queensland Ambulance Service explained that the man was assessed with minor inhalation injuries and had no other injuries.
He was transported to a residence as he did not need to be hospitalised for the smoke inhalation.
