‘Drunken fight’: Man stabbed, flown to hospital as clan violence sparks up again in Aurukun
A man has been stabbed in the early hours of the morning amid reports of an increase in sly grog-driven clan violence in Aurukun.

A man has been stabbed in the early hours of the morning amid reports of an increase in sly grog-driven clan violence in Aurukun.
Police are investigating following a disturbance at a Kor Street address on the morning of Tuesday, July 30.
Initial information indicated a group of people became involved in an altercation around 2.30am.
Upon arrival, police located a 32-year-old Aurukun man with non-life-threatening wounds to his abdomen and head.
A woman who witnessed the scene said that the incident happened after “three weeks of increasing clan violence” in Aurukun.
She said sly grogging had continued to increase in the community and she believed “drunkenness was causing fighting”.
He was transported to Cairns Hospital for treatment.
A crime scene was declared, and investigations are underway.
