THE owner of a rapidly expanding dessert and cocktail bar based in Brisbane now has his eyes on the Far North after The Cairns Post put a call out to readers to find out which restaurant they want next.

Cowch Dessert Cocktail Bar can be found in Brisbane and Gold Coast and has expanded to four locations. It is known for its decadent desserts including cookie pancake stacks, buttermilk waffles and sweet pizzas.

Founder Arif Memis said they were actively looking to expand the brand to places like Sydney, Melbourne and internationally. But now that Cairns is on his radar, a store could soon arrive.

“I would love to open a store up whether it’s our full Cowch Dessert Cocktail Bar version or our new mini store which is a gelato bar,” Mr Memis said.

“I would love the opportunity to come up there, I’ve never been to Cairns.

“If there’s demand I might take a trip up there and scout out a bit of places.”

Mr Memis said it was nice to hear people wanted the brand.

“It’s very humbling to think something my wife and I created is being sought after in different parts of Queensland, he said.

“We’ve worked very hard and put our life into this. To have people requesting the brand and see it grow. I really appreciate it.

“We are all about creating memorable moments of happiness and we happen to do desserts and cocktails.”
