Three charities are on board to raise some funds at a major book sale by Cairns Post on Wednesday that will include Disney and Paddington Bear classics. FIND OUT WHERE

DISNEY, Paddington Bear and classic Australian story books will be among those on offer at the Cairns Post foyer on Wednesday, with all ­proceeds going to local charities.

The Cairns Post distribution co-ordinator Michael Yates said all books were on sale for a gold coin donation.

“We have three charities on board, the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation, Mission Australia and Foster Care Queensland.

“Most of them will have ­volunteers there, while Mission Australia will leave a container for donations.

There will be a book sale at the front of the Cairns Post.

“All money raised will go to the charity of their choice.”

Mr Yates said there were a lot of books set on offer from over the years.

“People have got a chance to pick up the complete sets of the book series that sold for over $60 back in the day and will cost them a lot less.

“Bring plenty of gold coins, there will be some odd books available,” Mr Yates said.

Books will be available for sale in the Cairns Post foyer between 9am-3pm at 22-24 Abbott St, Cairns City.
