Cairns $20m shopping centre upgrade works commence

It is expected that the massive upgrade of this shopping centre will create around 150 jobs during the construction phase. As construction commences, here’s the first look at the $20m rebuild which will transform Cairns’ oldest shopping centre.

CHAIN wire fences with black bunting and demolition warning signs have been erected around the northern end of Cairns’ oldest shopping centre as building works commence to bring it into the new millennium with a $20m upgrade.

The Raintrees Shopping Centre which has been part of the Cairns retail landscape since 1974, will soon sport significant improvements.
