They may not be able to adopt every dog, but one Far North couple are helping to make sure every dog finds a home.

In an effort to raise funds for North Queensland Animal Rescue, By Heart Photography owners Juliette Wilkinson and Ben Brown, have put together the Pupparazzi Art Project, an 80 piece exhibition featuring dogs and their families to be displayed at Artview Gallery in November.

Ms Wilkinson, said the couple had done fundraisers for the animal shelter before, but nothing on this scale.

“We have done a few fundraising acts with NQAR in the past, we did their Santa Paws photos and we both like the way they work,” Ms Wilkinson said.

“Anyone helping animals is doing an amazing job. We like NQAR’s philosophy and the fact they are a foster organisation. Like every animal rescue organisation, they get overwhelmed at times so we like to help out when we can.”

Ms Wilkinson said the exhibition would mainly include dogs pictured with their families, however some pups avilable for adoption may feature.

“We’ve got someone coming in with seven dogs. My husband said it’s probably going to be the biggest challenge of his career. With animals, you’re not really sure what’s going to happen but we’re going to try our best to get them all into one photo,” she said.

Ms Wilkinson said the couple’s beloved pooch Murph will also be part of the exhibit.

“Murph needs to be in the show. It’s quite funny because we’re a family and pet photography business, but we don’t have any professional photos of our own dog,” she said.

Up to 60 spots remain for those who would like to get involved in the Pupparazzi Art Project.

“The exhibition is booked for the first week of November, but it’s a project that will be running for the next few months. We’ve had so much interest, we’ve had to close our April bookings already,” she said.

The exhibition will incur a gold coin donation in addition to the photography fee, with all photos available for purchase on the night.

All proceeds from photo bookings and five per cent from photo purchases will go to North Queensland Animal Rescue.
