A woman has been hospitalised after being struck by a car at a Sydney bus stop, with specialist rescue equipment deployed to remove another woman from the crash scene.
The accident plunged a major citybound thoroughfare into chaos, with buses forced to skip a stop as traffic banked up along the Gladesville Bridge.
It is understood the car first collided with a bus, before hitting the bus shelter where the woman in her 20s was waiting.
Pictures of the aftermath of the crash capture the extent of the damage to the red car, as authorities prepare for it to be towed.
Skid marks were also observed in an area close to the bus stop.
Paramedics were called about 8am on Tuesday after reports a car had left the road of Westbourne St and Victoria Rd, in Drummoyne.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said a woman in her 20s was treated for head, neck and lower limb injuries.
A second woman, in her 40s, reportedly suffered a broken arm.
Rescue equipment had to be deployed to remove the woman from the scene, NSW Fire and Rescue revealed in an update.
Both women have been transported to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
A spokesman from the hospital confirmed both were in a stable condition.
It is understood a third person was also treated.

Citybound traffic was queued back onto the Gladesville Bridge in Drummoyne, with two of five lanes of Victoria Rd closed at Westbourne St.
Buses on Victoria Rd were delayed and drivers were forced to miss the stop on Victoria Rd after Wolseley St, a spokesman from Sydney’s Transport Management Centre said.
All citybound lanes have since been reopened but the centre said traffic was slow back to Gladesville.
