Two children have been rushed to hospital after a “biscuit-style” inflatable device collided with a fishing boat on a popular lake on the NSW-Victoria border.
Emergency services were called to Mulwala, northeast of the Victorian town of Shepparton, about 11.30am on Sunday after reports of a boating incident.
NSW Police were told a ski boat towing the inflatable device was coming around a bend on Lake Mulwala when it collided with a stationary fishing boat.
Victorian police and ambulance paramedics arrived at the lake, which is located across from the Victorian town of Yarrawonga, and treated three people.
A 34-year-old man, a 10-year-old girl, and an eight-year-old boy, who suffered non-life threatening injuries, were all treated at the scene by paramedics.
All three were later flown to separate hospitals in Victoria.
In a statement, NSW Police said their counterparts in Victoria would conduct further inquiries with the skippers of both vessels involved in the crash.
