A teenage boy was intercepted outside Marvel Stadium on Saturday, with police allegedly finding a knife and imitation firearm during a search.

A 15-year-old boy has been cautioned by police after allegedly being found with a knife and imitation firearm outside Marvel Stadium in Melbourne.
Police said the teenager approached an entry gate on Bourke St about 4.30pm on Saturday, but drew attention from nearby officers when it was discovered he didn’t have a ticket to the AFL match.
A subsequent search allegedly uncovered a small knife and an imitation gun. The teen was stopped before entering the venue.
He was issued an official caution, and police confirmed he did not gain access to the stadium.
Essendon played the Sydney Swans at Marvel Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with more than 43,000 people in attendance, according to Aus Stadiums.
