While all citybound lanes reopened at around 9am, traffic remains very heavy in the area.
Commuters can expect significant delays as citybound traffic on the approach to the bridge remains congested, with gridlock reaching back to Victoria Rd and City West Link.
Authorities have advised motorists to allow for plenty of extra travel time in the area.
