Emergency services were called to a residential island after reports a man was found unresponsive in the water.

Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found after his boat capsized in the coastal waters of Queensland.

Emergency services were called following reports of an overturned vessel.

A man was found unresponsive in the water close to the jetty near High St on Russell Island in Moreton Bay about 12.30pm on Sunday.

Paramedics were unable to revive the man.

Water Police, with the assistance of Coast Guard, are conducting searches in the area to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
